Биохимические маркеры в диагностике сепсиса у пациентов детского возраста: опыт применения Пресепсина

Abstract

Sepsis is one of leading causes of death worldwide. It is important to use a marker of high sensitivity and specificity for early diagnostic of sepsis. Our experience concerns 8 pediatric surgical patients suffered from diseases accompanished by system inflammatory reaction syndrome whose lab tests included presepsin plasma levels determination. 100% of them had verification of diagnosis ("sepsis" or "no sepsis") clinically and biochemically. In all cases it was revealed that presepsin levels highly correlated with levels of C-reactive protein, leucocytosis, and SOFA scale points. Thus presepsin can be recommended as a marker of sepsis in pediatric patients.
