Сравнительный анализ нуждаемости в ортопедической стоматологической помощи пожилых людей Беларуси, проживающих в разных условиях
Abstract
The 701 subjects aged 65-74 years living in six homes for the elderly and 416 subjects of the same age living in the community. Oral hygiene (OHI-S), DMFT, prosthetic status and treatment needs were recorded using the World Health Organisation (WHO) assessment form. All surveyed patients evidenced low levels of oral hygiene (OHI-S 3.8-4.6) associated with high prevalence and severity of periodontal disease. The mean Decayed, Missing, or Filled Teeth (DMFT) value was 22.0±0.4 for those living in the community and 26.0±0.3 for the institutionalized. The objective need for prosthetic treatment on examination was 73-78%. In conclusion, oral health of the institutionalized 65-74-year-olds was worse and treatment needs were higher than those of the people from the same age group who lived in the community.
